Terms of service
Last updated: 19 September 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply to everyone who uses SmileBook.lk — dental clinics and their staff, and patients who search for clinics or book appointments. By using the service you accept them.
2. What SmileBook provides
SmileBook is software. It lets clinics manage appointments, patients, clinical records, billing, inventory and staff, and lets patients find clinics and request appointments. SmileBook does not provide dental treatment and is not a party to the relationship between a clinic and its patient.
3. Clinic responsibilities
- Keep clinic details, doctors, services and opening hours accurate and up to date.
- Ensure treating clinicians hold valid registration to practise in Sri Lanka.
- Handle patient records lawfully and only for the care of that patient.
- Keep staff accounts and passwords secure and remove access when staff leave.
- Honour or promptly cancel appointments accepted through the platform.
4. Patient responsibilities
Provide accurate details when booking, attend or cancel appointments in good time, and contact the clinic directly for anything clinical. Bookings are subject to the clinic's confirmation.
5. Educational content and AI features
Dental guides and AI assistance on SmileBook are general information only. They are not a diagnosis, not a prescription, and not a substitute for examination by a registered dentist.
6. Subscriptions
Paid plans give access to additional modules and messaging allowances for the subscription period. Plan contents and limits are shown on the plans page and may change with notice.
7. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to access another clinic's data, upload unlawful content, post false listings or reviews, interfere with the service, or use it to send unsolicited messages.
8. Availability and liability
SmileBook aims for continuous availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. To the extent permitted by law, SmileBook is not liable for clinical decisions, missed appointments, or losses arising from a clinic's or a patient's use of the platform. Clinics remain responsible for keeping their own records.
9. Data protection
Personal and patient data is handled as described in the privacy policy and protected by the measures on the security page.
10. Changes and contact
These terms may be updated; continued use after an update means acceptance. Questions can be raised through the contact page.
